Parenthood is something where most people will be confronted with sooner or later. Like all things in life, it’s something where we have no former experience with and it kind of gets thrown in our face. We make do with what we have and look to other people for advice where needed.
Parenting trends can often be introduced by celebrities, for example. While sometimes this can be a trend about a certain way of raising kids, there’s also been a trend by some celebrities to adopt children. Let’s take a look at a few.
Charlize Theron
Charlize had been interested in adoption ever since she was a young girl, especially once she learnt how many orphanages there were around the world. She has adopted two daughters. One of them is a trans girl, and Charlize believes that it’s not up to her to decide who her girls want to be, so they can decide this for themselves.
Hugh Jackman
The Wolverine star and his wife sadly suffered from quite a bit of miscarriages, which led them to make the decision to adopt two children. They currently have a boy and a girl sharing in the love of their family.
Ewan McGregor
That’s right, even Obi-Wan Kenobi has an adopted daughter. Aside from the three biological daughters he has with his ex-wife, they also adopted a Mongolian girl together who is now an adult.
Tom Cruise
During his wedding with Nicole Kidman, the Mission Impossible star adopted two children. They’re currently adults, but Tom has always treated them with the love and respect a child deserves.
Angelina Jolie
We can’t talk about celebrities that adopt children without mentioning Angelina, right? She has three adopted and three biological children, and has probably been the most inspiring and open celebrity when it comes to adopting children.
Sharon Stone
Sharon Stone was also unable to have children through biological means after suffering several miscarriages. She and her husband at the time adopted their first son in 2000, but Sharon adopted two more sons in 2005 and 2006 after she got a divorce.
Madonna
Yes, even the Queen of Pop has adopted kids. In fact, she has more adopted kids than Angelina Jolie, since she has four of them. She adopted her first child in 2006 and went on to adopt another child in 2007. Both of these were adopted when suffering from medical issues. In 2017, Madonna adopted her youngest twins.
