When we see celebrities, all we really see is the glitz and glamour. We see how much fun they have, the unlimited resources and spending, and the allure of being known around the world. But fame is not as easy and rewarding as we think, looking on the outside in. There is constant stress of work, and being scrutinized by the public eye. Then there is the constant traveling for shows or films, rehearsing, recording or marketing and promoting projects. If you add in the time and effort needed to actually have a personal life, there just doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day or mental capacity to keep it all together. For many celebs, this is why it is difficult to have a family when they are in a successful stint of their careers. Many stars try to juggle it all and work and balance family obligations. But there are some celebs who found it more beneficial to just take some time away from the limelight and focus fully on their family. Check out these 8 beautiful celebs who took breaks from fame for their families.
Drew Barrymore
At this stage in her career, Drew Barrymore has said she is down with the big screen for the foreseeable future. She made this decision after she had her two daughters Frankie and Olive. This is because she’d prefer to raise her children herself without having to hire someone to assist with childcare, but has said she may return to acting once her kids are older.
Eva Mendes
Since 2014, Eva Mendes has not appeared in any new films. She has done this because she wants to focus more on family as well. One venture that she still devotes time to outside of family life is her work with a fashion line for New York & Co.
Cameron Diaz
At one point in her career, Cameron Diaz was in a lot of films back to back. But now as of 2017, Diaz has officially announced her retirement from the film business. She wants to prioritize her family and be completely focused on raising her kids.

Katherine Heigl
Because of her schedule for filming with Grey’s Anatomy, Heigl had very little time to spend with her children. The crazy demands of this popular TV show left her feeling angry and frustrated, according to Heigl. Ultimately, she decided to take a break but then left the series altogether.
Gwyneth Paltrow
When she became a mother in 2004, she scaled back the amount of work she was taking on. She reduced the number of movies she was willing to act in and took on less major roles. She decided to take smaller roles in films like Iron Man and Contagion.
Leelee Sobieski
