It’s been 15 years since Lost ended and left us emotionally wrecked, yelling at our TVs, and Googling “What does the ending of Lost mean?” at 3 a.m. But while the mystery box may have closed on Oceanic Flight 815, the cast has been anything but idle. From Marvel gigs to retirement on farms (yes, really), here’s what the beloved (and occasionally infuriating) characters of Lost have been up to since leaving the island.
Matthew Fox (Jack Shephard)
Our reluctant hero Jack, aka the guy with the most emotional eye twitches on primetime TV, vanished from Hollywood for a while. After starring in Alex Cross and World War Z, Matthew Fox took a break from acting — partially due to personal drama, partially just… life. He made a quiet return in 2022 in Peacock’s Last Light. Now he’s enjoying his low-key life with his wife Margherita and their two kids. Still looking broody, though.

Evangeline Lilly (Kate Austen)
Kate ran through the jungle, toggled love interests, and carried the emotional baggage of five characters—and Evangeline Lilly carried that same energy into Hollywood. She became a full-on superhero as The Wasp in Marvel’s Ant-Man films and even rocked pointy ears as an elf in The Hobbit. But in 2024, she hit pause on acting, announcing she’s stepping away from fame to pursue a more fulfilling (and private) path. Respect.

Jorge Garcia (Hugo “Hurley” Reyes)
Hurley was everyone’s favorite unlucky lottery winner turned island hero. Jorge Garcia has stayed busy, popping up on shows like How I Met Your Mother and Alcatraz. He even popped out of a suitcase in The Wrong Missy. He competed on The Masked Singer in 2022 and welcomed a daughter in 2021 with wife Rebecca Birdsall. He’s still giving off comforting chaos vibes, in the best way.

Josh Holloway (James “Sawyer” Ford)
Sawyer was the Southern-accented bad boy with a heart of gold and a thesaurus of sarcastic nicknames. Josh Holloway leaned into his leading man energy post-Lost, starring in Colony, Yellowstone, and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. He’s still smoldering, still with Yessica Kumala (they’ve been married since 2004), and still proving you can rock long hair into your 50s and make it look cool.

Yunjin Kim (Sun-Hwa Kwon)
Sun brought grace, strength, and the best bilingual sass on the island. Yunjin Kim continued her global domination with roles in U.S. shows like Mistresses and Korean dramas and films. In 2024, she appeared in Station 19. She’s also been married to Jeong Hyeok Park, since 2010. Low-key, she’s the definition of effortlessly cool.

Daniel Dae Kim (Jin-Soo Kwon)
Jin’s evolution from domineering husband to emotional MVP was one of Lost’s most rewarding arcs. Daniel Dae Kim has stayed wildly successful—he starred in Hawaii Five-0, lent his voice to Raya and the Last Dragon, and appeared in Hellboy and Always Be My Maybe. Offscreen, he’s a fierce advocate for Asian representation and was appointed to the White House’s AAPI Visibility Task Force. Basically, Jin became a real-life hero.

Terry O’Quinn (John Locke)
Don’t tell him what he can’t do—because Terry O’Quinn is still acting up a storm. The Emmy-winning actor behind the mysterious, philosophical Locke has shown up in FBI: Most Wanted, Emergence, and Hawaii Five-0. He’s that guy who can make tying a shoelace seem intense. And yes, he’s still rocking that menacing-but-wise energy.

Naveen Andrews (Sayid Jarrah)
Sayid was the tortured soul we all secretly rooted for (especially in tank tops). Naveen Andrews has kept up the intensity in shows like Sense8, The Dropout (playing Elizabeth Holmes’ right-hand man), and The Cleaning Lady. He’s kept his personal life relatively private, but his screen presence remains strong, dark, and brooding. Just how we like it.

Dominic Monaghan (Charlie Pace)
Not Penny’s Boat! (We’re still not over it.) Dominic Monaghan has been riding the nerd icon wave post-Lost, reuniting with J.J. Abrams in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and hosting the nature docuseries Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan. He also starred in Moonhaven in 2022.

Emilie de Ravin (Claire Littleton)
From beachy Aussie to jungle mom, Claire had quite the journey—and so has Emilie de Ravin. She played Belle on Once Upon a Time, did the indie film circuit, and most recently appeared in the Australian series True Colours. She and director fiancé Eric Bilitch are parents to three children, and yes, she still has that ethereal, slightly haunted Claire look.

Harold Perrineau (Michael Dawson)
“WAAAAALT!” will forever echo in our heads. Harold Perrineau has had a long and steady career since Lost, starring in Claws, The Rookie, and The Best Man: The Final Chapters. He’s also done a ton of voice work and appeared in Zero Dark Thirty and Dumplin’. He and his wife Brittany have three kids, and yes, his characters still bring the drama.

Malcolm David Kelley (Walt Lloyd)
Walt went from telepathic island kid to pop-rap star. Yup it was unexpected to say the least. Malcolm David Kelley formed the music duo MKTO and kept acting in series like Blindspot and Insecure. He also appeared in Detroit (2017) and Angel (2023). It’s been fun watching him grow from mysterious child to multi-talented performer.

Michael Emerson (Ben Linus)
Ben Linus was the manipulative mastermind and the smuggest villain you hated to love. Michael Emerson kept playing the cerebral baddie in Person of Interest, Evil, and Arrow. He’s married to actress Carrie Preston — who also briefly appeared on Lost — and together they’re a total theater nerd power couple. He still has that “I know something you don’t” smirk down to a science.

Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond Hume)
Henry Ian Cusick has been all over the place—from The 100 and MacGyver to Scandal and Inhumans. He’s also done a few smaller films and directed indie projects. He lives with his wife, Annie Cusick Wood, and their three sons in Hawaii.

Ian Somerhalder (Boone Carlyle)
Boone didn’t last long on the island, but Ian Somerhalder made the most of his screen time. After Lost, he became a teen vampire heartthrob in The Vampire Diaries and later starred in Netflix’s V Wars. Now he’s traded acting for a quiet life on a farm with wife Nikki Reed and their two kids.

Maggie Grace (Shannon Rutherford)
Shannon was the epitome of early-2000s hot-mess energy. Maggie Grace went on to star in the Taken trilogy, Twilight, Fear the Walking Dead, and a bunch of indie flicks. She’s married to entrepreneur Brent Bushnell and became a mom in 2020. And yes, she still looks like she just stepped out of a Vogue beach shoot.

Michelle Rodriguez (Ana Lucia Cortez)
Michelle Rodriguez brought pure cop energy to the island, and she’s been living life in the fast lane ever since. She’s stayed busy reprising her role as Letty in the Fast & Furious franchise, starred in Machete and Avatar, and continues to kick ass on screen. She’s just as intense, as badass and still not taking your nonsense.

Bonus: Who’s Reunited Since?
While the full cast hasn’t staged a beachside reunion (yet), several Lost alumni have reunited over the years—especially on Hawaii Five-0. Daniel Dae Kim, Jorge Garcia, and Terry O’Quinn all shared screen time again, and Dominic Monaghan teamed up with J.J. Abrams for Star Wars. Meanwhile, many of the cast remain close, and occasional cons and nostalgia interviews keep the Lost love alive.
