“Magic Mike” is the ultimate junk food movie franchise. What is a ‘junk food movie,’ you may ask? Ultimately, it’s a trashy film that’s the equivalent of a candy bar. It might not be educational or critically acclaimed, but it’s entertaining and full of hunks, so we’re in! “Magic Mike XXL” reigns in the world of trashy movies, and the trailer (which is filled with spicy moments) was action-packed enough to make all of us run out to the theater and grab a ticket on opening night. Here are the naughtiest moments from the trailer that we’ll never forget.
Channing Tatum does metal work
Most R-rated films can only show so much in the trailer, but we got a spicy little snippet in the trailer when Tatum, who plays the titular hero, is filmed filing down a piece of metal. Now, this basic workshop activity isn’t too daring by nature, but since the filmmakers clearly used the metal as a metaphor for Tatum’s manhood, with the sparks symbolizing a climax, it was an edgy moment to say the least.
A flip that had us drooling
Tatum demonstrated remarkable agility throughout the film. In this scene, Tatum shows off his flexibility and does some parkour-inspired moves, performing a full flip that Benson Boone would be proud of. He then grabs onto a lower rafter and keeps swinging, giving us a preview of the very acrobatic dance scenes that would take place in the film.
The provocative dancing that made the franchise famous
Today, Sabrina Carpenter has become an icon for her risqué performances that are known for shocking conservative folks. But “Magic Mike XXL” actors were the OGs of simulated sex acts onscreen. In the trailer, Tatum is seen writhing inches above someone else, taking things from dirty dancing to X-rated, juicy tidbits that are perfect fantasy material.
More shirtless eye candy than an Abercrombie & Fitch store
One of the “Magic Mike XXL” highlights is the sheer number of scenes that show super buff, hunky men taking off their clothes and showing off their bodies with sexy dance moves. There’s plenty of that (and drool-inducing shirtless moments) in the trailer, but the scene with Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello, and the whole ensemble in just tight blue jeans took the cake with an overwhelming amount of rippling muscles in a jaw-dropping display.
That Pepsi moment
Although Tatum is the focus of most of the moments we’ve mentioned, we were also treated to plenty of hottie Joe Manganiello, who was his theatrical co-star in the movie. There was one hilarious moment that centered on Manganiello, where he’s holding a water bottle in front of a fridge filled with Pepsi, squeezing the bottle so hard that a stream of water shoots out. With the suggestive arc of liquid and the rhythmic rocking of his hips, it looked like the “True Blood” star was playing with himself.
