10 Celebrities Who Have Been Married At Least Four Times

Advertisements

It’s not surprising for celebrities to take several trips down the aisles. The first time isn’t a charm for everyone, and fairy-tale endings aren’t always guaranteed. Although they have lives of luxury and glamour, stars have relationship struggles just like us, whether it’s dealing with infidelity or other irreconcilable differences. Here are the most famous celebrities who said “I do” multiple times—four or more, to be exact.

1. Jennifer Lopez

Number of Marriages: 4

Hopefully, the fourth time’s a charm for J.Lo. She was married to Ojani Noa for 11 months, and after that ended in 1998, she married her backup dancer in 2001. They divorced just two years later. Her longest-lasting marriage was the third to singer and actor Marc Anthony, with whom she had a son and a daughter, but they filed for divorce in 2014. That’s when she rekindled the spark with ex-boyfriend Ben Affleck, marrying in the summer of 2022. Though divorce rumors are swirling, we hope these two are endgame.

2. Pamela Anderson

Number of Marriages: 6-ish

Everyone remembers Pamela’s first marriage to rocker Tommy Lee in 1995 after she had known him for a few days. The two divorced in 1998 after they had two children together, and she decided to try it with another musician, marrying Kid Rock in 2006 before breaking up later that year. Shortly after, she wed the notorious poker player Rick Salomon, only to have their marriage annulled after six months. They remarried and divorced again. In 2020, she secretly married a movie producer called Jon Peters, but they split just weeks later and claimed the marriage was never legal. Her final relationship was with bodyguard Dan Hayhurst, who she split with after a year of marriage.

3. Nicolas Cage

Number of Marriages: 5

Nicolas Cage married Patricia Arquette in 1991 before divorcing in 2001. After that came the short and fiery marriage with Elvis’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, which only lasted a few months. Then, he wed the much younger Alice Kim in 2004, with whom he shared a son before divorcing in 2015. Following that, Cage celebrated nuptials with makeup artist Erika Koike in 2019, but they filed for divorce less than a week after they eloped in Vegas. In 2021, the latest wedding took place with girlfriend Riko Shibata, with whom he had his third child.

4. Zsa Zsa Gabor

Number of Marriages: 9

Zsa Zsa did what she wanted—nine times, to be precise! First, in 1935, came Turkish politician Burhan Asaf Belge. She then walked down the aisle with Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton, and then actor George Sanders. Most of the marriages lasted about four to five years, except for her marriage to Joshua S. Cosden Jr., which ended a year later in 1967. Then Zsa Zsa took a break from men until 1975, when she married designer Jack Ryan. The marriage lasted just a year before she married Michael O’Hara three days after finalizing her last divorce. Then, there was a one-day marriage to actor Felipe de Alba before her final hubby, Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt, who was with her until she died in 2016.

5. Elizabeth Taylor

Number of Marriages: 8

This Hollywood beauty was married to a total of seven men. She was only 18 when she married Conrad Hilton, Jr. in 1950 (something she has in common with Zsa Zsa) before marrying actor Michael Wilding, who was 20 years older than her, in 1952. Subsequently came theater producer Mike Todd, who sadly passed away in a plane crash, and then she stole her friend Debbie Reynolds’ man, Eddie Fisher, before moving on with co-star Richard Burton. Taylor switched to political players when she wed U.S. senator John Warner in 1976 and ended her wedding streak with Larry Fortensky in 1991.

6. Lana Turner

Number of Marriages: 8

Hollywood icon Lana Turner eloped with composer Artie Shaw in 1939, but it lasted just four months. In 1942, she tried her luck again with actor Joseph Stephen Crane but annulled it less than a year after learning he wasn’t truly divorced from his ex. They remarried and then divorced in 1944. In 1948, Turner was hitched to socialite Henry J. Topping, Jr. for four years. In 1953, she married Lex Barker, and their union lasted a similar amount of time. Following this came ups and downs with her exes: Fred May, hypnotist Ronald Dante, and former CEO of Chrysler Corporation Robert Eaton.

7. Larry King

Number of Marriages: 8

Larry King can’t say no to a beautiful woman, and his marriage history proves that. He married eight times to seven women; it all started with his high school sweetheart when he was just a teen until his last wife, Shawn Southwick, from whom he was estranged until he passed away. Funnily enough, he told PEOPLE that he wasn’t “a marrying guy,” and after marrying women for a series of one to two-year marriages (Julie Alexander and Alene Atkins, whom he divorced but then remarried in 1968), one of his longest relationships was with wife Sharon Lepore, whom he married in 1976 and divorced in 1983. Six years later, his final partner was his ex-wife, Southwick, who remained with him until their eventual divorce was filed in 2019. He passed away before proceedings could be finalized.

8. Richard Pryor

Number of Marriages: 7

Comedian Richard Pryor is on this list on a technicality since he married and remarried several of his exes. First came Patricia Price in 1961, after a one-year marriage. In 1967, he wed Shelley Bonis, but they broke up two years later. Almost a decade later, he had a couple of one-year marriages with Jennifer Lee in 1981 and Flynn Belaine in 1987 (who he remarried again from 1990-1991). After his accident, he won back Jennifer Lee after he apologized for his past wrongdoings and asked for her hand in marriage a second time.

9. Joan Collins

Number of Marriages: 5

Joan Collins has tons of Hollywood love stories in her memoir, where she says she “kissed a lot of frogs” before meeting her prince. The frogs are Maxwell Reed, Anthony Newly, and Ron Kass. Then came Swedish singer Peter Holm in the mid-1980s before meeting her fifth husband (aka her “prince”) Percy Gibson in 2002. She called him the most “honorable man she’s ever met” to PEOPLE magazine and, in her memoir, added, “For those women who are looking for a life partner, that old saying that men are like buses and ‘if you wait long enough, the right one will come along’ is true for a reason.”

10. Melanie Griffith

Number of Marriages: 4

After walking down the aisle four times, Melanie Griffith has publicly stated that she refuses to get married a fifth time, which is understandable. Talking to InStyle magazine in August 2018, she said, “I really don’t think it’s relevant for anyone anymore. But especially if you’re 60 and you have four kids, and you’re living the life you’ve always wanted,” adding that she wouldn’t mind falling in love and starting a relationship, but it hasn’t happened. Griffith married actors Don Johnson and Steven Bauer in the 70s and 80s before remarrying Bauer after their split. Her final husband was actor Antonio Banderas before they broke up in 2015.
