Caitlyn Jenner has worn many hats throughout her life. She used to be an Olympic athlete, then she became a reality star with the Kardashians, then she came out as trans, and now she seems to be a political influencer of sorts.
Lately, Caitlyn has been pretty distant with the Kardashians, and instead the 75-year-old chose to focus on her career, proclaim her support for the Republican Party and Donald Trump, and even tried running for governor of California in 2021.

Running for governor of California turned out to be a failure, but that didn’t stop Caitlyn from pushing her views. In her interview with People she said that she just wants the government to be out of her face and out of her regulations and that her real goal is a thriving economy, so that there’s enough money to help the people who need help. It’s a somewhat ambiguous statement, but that’s the nature of aspirant politicians, isn’t it?

You can read the caption yourself, but Caitlyn Jenner really put a lot of trust into Trump and Musk in this Instagram post. The MAGA slogan was hardly unexpected, we’re just not sure what sacrifices she’s talking about here.
Taking a Stand Against Trans Athletes
Caitlyn took a controversial stance on trans rights regarding athletes. Despite being an Olympic athlete in the past and having transitioned in 2015, she still believes that trans athletes shouldn’t be able to compete alongside other athletes in their categories.
When she heard that a transgender girl was allowed to compete along with other female athletes, she took to social media and proclaimed that it’s wrong and we need to push back! She also stated that trans people are being used as political pawns by the “radical gender ideology.”
Single and Not Looking for Long-term Partnership
Perhaps being married and divorced three times has had a lasting influence on Caitlyn. In 2023, she said she’s not even considering looking for a relationship. That’s just not something she’s interested in, and she’s pretty sure she’ll never be in a long-term relationship in the future. It’s just not something she wants in her life, and she’s not interested in that anymore.
Close Ties With Sophia Hutchins
Despite Caitlyn’s statements above, people were speculating that she’s in a relationship with Sophia Hutchins. But Sophia came out with a statement in 2021 saying that her relationship with Caitlyn is not a romantic one, in fact it feels like a parental/familial one. She feels like Caitlyn treats her like a daughter and she’s blessed to be part of her family. Since then Sophia Hutchins has tragically passed away at 29, and Caitlyn was absolutely heartbroken over it.
What About The Kardashian Family?
Jenner has famously cut ties with the Kardashians after her memoir came out. In her book she made it seem like Kris knew about her gender identity and wasn’t as supportive. Kris was extremely offended and said that she’s being painted as a b**** and denied all allegations. It was a whole big thing and Kris and Caitlyn stopped talking to each other. Kim, Khloe and Kourtney also distanced themselves from Caitlyn and now they are never really seen together.
However, Caitlyn is still in touch with her two biological daughters, Kendall and Kylie. But she admits that while she’s still close with them, Kendall is a but more secretive and likes to keep things private, so she feels closer with Kylie, who’s more of an open book.

While at first Caitlyn really lost touch with the Kardashian side of the family, it seems like Kim was the only one who at first tried to stay neutral, and with time they’ve managed to reconnect a bit.
In 2024, Kim posted on Instagram to wish Caitlyn a happy birthday.
Caitlyn also mentioned that she’s still close with her other kids from past marriages.
Reconnecting With Former Son-in-Law Lamar Odom
In an unexpected turn of events, Caitlyn also reconnected with Khloé Kardashian’s ex-husband, Lamar Odom. They announced they were planning on starting a podcast together called Keeping Up With Sports. The idea was to get together and talk sports, and the name is clearly a nod to their past family ties to the Kardashians.
Lamar was asked once whether their podcast is making the relationship with Caitlyn closer or if it’s just a work thing, and once the cameras stop rolling, it stops. He took a second to think about his response, and what came out sounded like they’re not super close but they’re family and he has hopes that they might become closer with time.
Slammed by Many Public Figures
Caitlyn is not shy about sharing her political beliefs and opinions. But they often seem at odds with the reality of her life, so many public figures have taken a jab at her. Howard Stern once even said that she’s transgender people’s worst nightmare.
Death of Her Mother
In April of 2023, Caitlyn’s mother, Esther, passed away at age 96. Caitlyn revealed this to the public via Instagram and was clearly heartbroken, because she felt like she lost not only her mother, but also the only person who loved her her whole life.
Fox News Pundit
Caitlyn became a Fox News pundit in 2023, and was asked to comment on politics. She was seen as a huge asset for their audience because, as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she had very unusual views that matched the beliefs of the Fox News audience.
