It’s not a secret actresses can sacrifice a lot for the movies – including their health and well-being! Some movies require them to become as fit as possible, while others will turn their acting work into a real nightmare. Such is the case with some of the famous movies where actresses had to wear gorgeous dresses. Yes, they looked absolutely breathtaking and many of us would dream to try them on, but most viewers have no idea just how tough it was to even breathe in them! Here are 7 gorgeous movie dresses that were a nightmare to wear.

Monica Belucci (The Brothers Grimm)

Monica Belucci looked simply breathtaking in The Brothers Grimm movie, didn’t she? Yet that beauty came at a price. The dress made of brocade and velvet, with a long plume, was incredibly heavy by itself, but it wasn’t the worst part. Actress had a hard time wearing the accessories – gorgeous crown and earrings. Designer Gabriella Pescucci did her best to make the crown of the witch lighter, but to no avail. Monica Belucci could wear it only for a short amount of time, taking numerous breaks from the shooting. She got lucky with the earrings, though, as the designer managed to switch them for cuff ones, which weren’t so heavy to wear.

Lily James (Cinderella)

Lily James in her dreamy blue dress looked like a real princess. In reality, each and every minute the actress spent in it was filled with suffering. It appears the corset and crinoline of the dress were made of steel! It took Lily James around half an hour to put on the dress, and it had to be tight all the way to create that perfect (although unnatural) waistline! Lily confessed that filming the dance sequence with prince was the hardest part – he kept on stepping on her dress, adding numerous re-shoots to the torturous filming process.

Helena Bonham Carter (Alice in Wonderland)

Despite all the CGI, actress had to go through some physical changes to create the illusion of being even smaller than she actually was, with a head much bigger than her body. To create that effect, she had to wear a corset – a really tight one! Actress confessed that it was tightened so much that she could hardly breathe during the filming.
