Home design is not an easy job to do. There are a lot of details that people with no background just don’t know about. This is why it is better to let interior design professionals do the hard job. However, hiring a team of professionals doesn’t always guarantee that your home’s design would come out perfect. Sometimes, it comes out ugly, absurd and plain stupid.

Meet Dina Holland, an interior designer who collects photos of the worst and ugliest home designs and posts them on her Instagram account @pleasehatethesethings.

Most of the cases she has to deal with is owners trying to get creative with the colors and textures, but sometimes things just really get out of hand.

The designer believes that such horrific interior designs exist mostly because young designers are too afraid to speak out. They should be more confident and learn how to stand their ground. They need to learn to say NO. Say “no” to that ugly Rapunzel carpet on the staircase, or Satan fireplace, or a queen-sized bed with a built-in bathtub.

In one of her interviews, Holland talked about how she started posting home design fails on her work account. There were a lot of comments and in one of them her client suggested to create a separate account that would be fully dedicated to home design fails. This is how @pleasehatethesethings was born.

The listing of the account says “you are here for the comments” and it didn’t lie. The only thing that is more awesome and funnier about this account is the comment section. Every post is followed by tons of super witty and spot-on comments that will make your day for sure.
