The universe might be monstrously indifferent to the presence of man, but the man is certainly not indifferent to the presence of Baby Yoda. Whether or not you are watching “The Mandalorian” series on Disney+, you are definitely familiar with the new social media phenomenon known as Baby Yoda. This tiny adorable creature with big eyes and big floppy ears has already melted millions of hearts.
The series aired just a few weeks ago, and Baby Yoda has already been dominating social media and our hearts. And you don’t even have to be a Star Wars fan to go “awww” every time you see this adorable character as there is a scientific explanation to that. There is this thing called “baby schema”. It’s a cluster of certain physiological features that include wide eyes, bigger head, smaller nose and lips that are designed to evoke a caregiver feeling. In other words we adore Baby Yoda so much because he reminds us of a baby.
However, Baby Yoda’s childlike features are not the only thing that leaves us feeling overwhelmed by positive feelings. There is so much more to this character that we can’t help but adore:
1. Baby Yoda and his soup
The world needed more sipping tea memes and it got one. I wonder if it’s gonna replace the Kermit sipping tea meme?
2. His floating crib
Admit it, baby Yoda’s space crib is a means of transportation you always needed.
3. He is heartbreakingly beautiful
No one can really explain why this new character touched their souls so deeply. It just makes you cry when you see it.
4. That E.T. moment
The 80’s fans surely appreciated the moment when baby Yoda was reaching out to mandalorian that looked very similar to the famous E.T. movie scene.
5. His giant ears
Is it just me or Baby Yoda’s big pointy ears are a galaxy equivalent of a corgi butt? One just can’t have enough of looking at those disproportionately big ears.
6. When he’s being sneaky
No road trip can go without fighting over the radio. No wonder this Baby Yoda playing with the radio scene became one of the most loved scenes in “The Mandalorian”. In fact, it’s not really clear what the initial purpose of the button is so some just made it about the radio. And the result is absolutely hilarious.
7. His smile
Baby Yoda doesn’t smile much, but when he does, it just melts our hearts.
8. His powers
He might be a baby, but he’s already able to use his powers which makes him the best wingman in the galaxy.
9. His walk
Baby Yoda has the cutest walk ever and you can’t deny it.
In conclusion, I’d like to say that you might not be a Star Wars fan, but you can’t deny the fact that Disney once again proved their cuteness formula to always work.
