With “Avengers: Endgame” the Marvel studio marked the end of the third phase, and now we can’t wait to see what the studio got for us in the fourth one. What we know for now is that Phase Four is going to look especially crowded with the upcoming Doctor Strange and Loki movies. Unfortunately there will be no Avengers movies anymore, but there are going to be 11 new movies, 4 TV series and 1 animated series.
New movies and series will introduce us to many new characters. And new characters mean new faces joining the Marvel Universe, right? So, to make your life easier, we decided to round up the most surprising and exciting cast choices in Marvel’s Phase Four so far…
Rachel Weisz – Iron Maiden (“Black Widow” 2020)
Side: Dark
About the character: Real name – Melina Von Vostokoff. Iron Maiden is one of Black Widow’s deadliest enemies. She always lived in the shadow of Black Widow and became quite jealous of her.

Angelina Jolie – Thena (“The Eternals” 2020)
Side: Light
About the character: The Eternals is a genetically modified human race which basically makes Thena a superhuman. Thena had her mind wiped by a fellow Eternal Sprite. When she woke up, she found herself married to a regular man, having a son and working at the Stark Industries. Later, she regained her memory and powers, but didn’t want to leave her son behind. Her superpowers include super strength, speed, durability, and many others, but most importantly she is basically immortal.

Richard Madden – Ikaris (“The Eternals” 2020)
Side: Light
About the character: Possesses the very basic psychic abilities, can read minds and pretty much out-fly most of the Eternals. Was born 20,000 years ago, his superpower abilities are very similar to Superman’s.

Mahershala Ali – Blade (“Blade”, date of release is still unknown yet)
Side: Light
About the character: Vampire slayer. Regular guy with superpowers and superspeed who doesn’t age like humans but rather in a different way. The character is well-known outside the Marvel Universe thanks to the movie trilogy with the same name.

Salma Hayek – Ajak (“The Eternals” 2020)
Side: Light
About the character: A gender-swapped version of Ajak who is going to be a leader of the Eternals on Earth. As for his abilities, he can mentally manipulate gravity particles around him which is like levitation but not quite.

Kumail Nanjiani – Kingo (“The Eternals” 2020)
Side: Light
About the character: A samurai, a film star. Kingo allegedly has all typical powers: super-strength, super-speed, levitation, flight. However, he fights in a traditional manner of the Samurai.

Florence Pugh – Yelena Belova (“Black Widow” 2020)
Side: Light
About the character: Spy, Russian, does pretty much the same thing as Black Widow. Lives her life trying to prove she deserves a Black Widow status.

Ma Dong Seok – Gilgamesh (“The Eternals” 2020)
Side: Dark
About the character: Also known as the Forgotten One, and sometimes presented as a god. He fights against his own kind.

David Harbour – Red Guardian (“Black Widow” 2020)
Side: Light
About the character: Real name – Alexi Shostakov. He was the Soviet Union’s test pilot but due to his extraordinary physical abilities, the KGB decided to turn him into a special agent Red Guardian. They trained him to become the Russian version of Captain America.

Maisie Williams – Wolfsbane (“The New Mutants” 2020)
Side: Light
About the character: Real name – Rahne Sinclair, Scotland. Has the ability to switch shapes (human to wolf and vice versa). Sometimes she gets stuck in-between forms turning into half-human-half-wolf.
