On-screen romance is probably one of the biggest draws of any TV show. Whether it’s a procedural drama, a story about a crime-fighting unit, a sitcom, or a supernatural action show – there is always romance, which grabs the attention of viewers more than the most exquisite plot twists. We love watching our favourite characters build all kinds of relationships and worry about them even more than about our own romances! Let’s re-visit 9 of our most favourite TV couples and see what they look like now.
Kate Beckett and Richard Castle (Castle)
Kate and Richard’s relationship was a slow-burner and we were on cloud nine when the two finally got together. Still, there was lots of drama afterwards for things not to get boring. A female detective and a crime story writer seemed like an unlikely duo, but they turned out to be perfect for each other.

Dr. House and Lisa Cuddy (House, M.D.)
It’s hard to tell whether healthy relationships are possible with Dr. House at all, still it was a welcome change to see him and Lisa Cuddy get together, at least for a little while. The tension between the two has been building up for seasons before they finally acted on it. It was a bumpy ride and, though eventually things didn’t work out for them, fans rejoiced seeing them give it a try.

Buffy Summers and Angel (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer)
One of the most favourite TV couples of the 90s, Buffy and Angel got into a human-vampire relationship way before it became a trend. Angel fell in love with Buffy the minute he saw her, but the two met each other much later and fell in love. Angel was one of a kind vampire with a soul, but things still didn’t go easy for the couple due to all kinds of obstacles.

Rose and the Doctor (Doctor Who)
The Doctor is notorious for creating complicated bonds with his companions, but the relationship with Rose was one of the most heart-wrenching ones. After a few Shakespearean plot twists the two did get together (kind of), before the Doctor had to continue his adventures all by himself. It was a heart-breaking moment for all the fans!

Doug Ross and Carol Hathaway (ER)
Dough Ross and Carol Hathaway’s relationship was not an easy ride. They’ve had their ups and downs and it was hard to believe that Dough would be able to win her over after all the heartbreak she went through right in the beginning of the series. Still, they managed to make it work and it was a delight to watch them!

Kate and Sawyer (Lost)
The tension between Kate and Sawyer was almost palpable, so it was no wonder the two ended up having a kind of relationship. Although Kate was always drawn to Jack, Sawyer was very like her as the two were both criminals in the real world. They have developed a beautiful connection, but went their separate ways in the end.

Dana Scully and Fox Mulder (The X-Files)
Scully and Mulder’s slow-burning romance became a truly legendary on-screen relationship. They were so different, yet made such a perfect couple! Their feelings toward each other were obvious, but the showrunners didn’t give us a lot of details. Still, they’re an iconic TV couple that we still love to watch today.

Donna Martin and David Silver (Beverly Hills 90210)
Donna and David were one of the most favourite Beverly Hills 90210 couples ever. Fans were heartbroken when the two broke up and rejoiced when they got back together. Their relationship was a bumpy ride, but eventually they stayed together and got married in the end of the TV show.

Phoebe Halliwell and Cole Turner (Charmed)
A half-demon and a witch trying to build a relationship together – what could possibly go wrong? The two had a passionate relationship, which made Cole turn to the good side, but not for long. After their marriage, he got possessed by an evil force and had to be vanquished by the witches. But this still wasn’t the end of their relationship!
