When we are watching movies, we sympathize with heroes and are hating on villains especially if actors playing them are really good at portraying the character. It becomes hard to believe that real people are different from their on-screen counterparts and actually better then they are. Here is the list of actors who we hate in films but can’t stop admiring in real life.
Iwan Rheon – Ramsay Bolton, Game of Thrones
Playing the role of Ramsay Bolton, sadistic and cruel bastard who just can’t stop hurting people. Iwan played the role so well that many considered Ramsay the worst villain in the Game of Thrones. In real life, he enjoys singing and even released three albums. He is also friends with Kit Harington and he has a good sense of humor.
Harry Lloyd – Viserys Targaryen, Game of Thrones
Even though Harry Lloyd appeared only in Season 1 as Viserys Targaryen, Daenerys’ big brother, who sells his sister to gain some forces to reclaim the throne. Arrogant and cruel in the show, in real life Harry is well educated and is actually related to Charles Dickens. He released several of his own projects which he is very humble about.
Bill Skarsgård – Pennywise, It
An evil clown hunting kids might be a terrifying role to play, but as one of the Skarsgård acting family, he is a very nice guy adored by fans. The cast loved him as he made lots of jokes and was nothing like his character. In fact, Pennywise has influenced Bill’s life and the actor doesn’t like to be compared to him.
Oscar Isaac – Nathan, Ex Machina
Smart CEO who is revealed to be an alcoholic and narcissist is not what Oscar actually is. He is often described as “internet’s boyfriend” and there is a reason for that as he is charming, plays the guitar and sings, and even helps his relatives. What a guy!
Heath Ledger – Joker, The Dark Knight
Heath Ledger’s Joker is still one of the most loved ones in the history of DC. Ledger was actually recognised with Oscar but after his death. During his life, he was a chess player and was loved by all directors he worked with. His creativity and a serious attitude toward his roles were praised by his fans.
Hugo Weaving – Agent Smith, The Matrix
Agent Smith was a great role which made Hugo Weaving more popular and even scored more roles with Wachowski siblings. The character was loved by fans as it was very well played. In real life, Hugo supports Epilepsy charity and enjoys participating in small projects in Australia.
Tom Felton – Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter
The bully who gets what he deserves sounds like a not-so-happy ending for Draco Malfoy. Unlike his Harry Potter character, Tom Felton supports charities and anti-bullying campaigns, he has founded fishing tournament with his brothers and likes to write and perform music. Very different from the villain we know.
Alan Rickman – Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood, Professor Severus Snape in Harry Potter, Hans Gruber in Die Hard
Alan Rickman is the actor we will remember with warmth in our hearts. In his career, he has played quite a few villain roles which he performed brilliantly. While the characters he played were hated by viewers, Rickman’s true personality was so much more.
