We are pretty much used to bold photoshoots and risky celeb dresses that sometimes reveal too much. This is what celebs do to attract attention and gain followers in the western world that is mostly focused on the amount of skin showed to the public. We might not like it, but this is how things are at the moment! But have you have stopped and wondered what the same products would look like in a more conservative setting? The whole of Middle-East has a totally different approach towards a female body and what is appropriate. Here are 12 products from the West that transformed beyond recognition when they hit the Middle-Eastern market.
Britney Spear’s classic album features the singer rocking a crop-top with tight pants, but it is a huge no-no in Middle-Eastern countries. No heavy censorship was done here – the photo simply got zoomed, leaving only Britney’s face to attract attention.
Mostly they’re using Photoshop to give the stars more clothes, covering up all the exposed skin. Even innocent-looking Taylor Swift didn’t escape the transformation!
Seems it’s easier to just change the whole image than to make Justin Bieber look decent for the Middle-Eastern market. Sorry, Biebs, you didn’t pass the censorship on this one!
Miley Cyrus is quite famous for her revealing outfits and bold behaviour both on stage and in real life. Yet Middle-East world will take none of that – her legs on the Bangerz got a full coverage in a simple and non-creative way. Nevertheless, Miley is still a huge icon even there!
Ariana Grande also didn’t escape the censorship. Her midriff, shoulders, legs – everything was hidden! This gives quite a perspective of the differences between Western and Middle-Eastern cultures.
Obviously, it’s easier to simply zoom in Shakira than to make her look less than hot. Have to agree on that one! A close-up of her gorgeous face looks beautiful, so no one would mind.
